Dental Negligence Claim

The world of Medical Negligence can be quite big and daunting. That’s why we’ve broken it down in an easy way so you can hopefully find what you’re looking for. Here are all the areas we cover regarding Dental Negligence Claims. Click on any of the buttons below to find out more about the area you need.

Dental Negligence Claims

Some people hate going to the dentist, the noise of the drills and the smell of the antiseptic puts people on edge in the waiting room, before they’ve even sat down in the dreaded chair. Now, imagine having to spend hours and hours extra in the chair because your dentist made a mistake with your treatment?

You’d be pretty fed-up, I’m sure. And, more importantly, you’d probably be entitled to claim compensation. Compensation is for those people who have been left in a worse off position than they would have been in, because of someone else’s negligence – which means they didn’t do what they should have done.

If you’ve been in this situation, you should explore the idea of making a claim for compensation. Call us and we’ll quickly be able to tell you whether your claim for compensation is likely to be successful.

Speak to one of our experienced compensation claims advisors free of charge today on 01204 201296. Alternatively, you can fill in one of our contact forms and we’ll call you back.

TYPES OF DENTAL NEGLIGENCE

These are the types of dental negligence we most commonly see:

  • Delayed, Missed or Late Diagnosis – your dentist completely misses a serious dental condition, such as an abscess. Once the true nature of your problem is discovered, it has progressed and is much more serious than it would have been had they discovered it at the first appointment
  • Misdiagnosis – your dentist diagnosed you with something else, which you may have already started to receive treatment for
  • Improper Dental Technique – maybe your dentist was entirely correct with their diagnosis, but the way they performed the treatment was substandard in some way

However, these are not the only ways in which dental negligence can occur. So, if your particular set of circumstances is not detailed here, call us to find out if we can help you.

IT’S NOT PERSONAL

It’s important to remember that claiming compensation is not personal. All healthcare staff are required to have insurance to cover their business or organisation for instances like this. So, you should never feel guilty about claiming.

Even if you feel your dentist is a friend – you may have had the same dentist since being a child – you should still explore the possibility of making a claim if you find yourself in this situation.

If your claim is successful, the money you are paid comes from the insurance policy, not the personal pocket of the individual you’re claiming from. It works like your car insurance. When the driver takes out a policy, it is to cover the costs of being in an accident that’s considered to be their fault. If the other side’s car is a write-off, the driver’s insurance company will pay for it to be replaced.

In the same way, if your dentist ‘writes off’ your teeth, their insurance company will pay for them to be repaired.

WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE A CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION

Compensation is designed to help you. It’s meant to make your everyday life as normal as possible.

So, if the dental negligence you’ve suffered prevents you from working, and you have no other income, you’ll need some way of supporting yourself while you get back on your feet – compensation can help.

Dental mistreatment can lead to expensive follow-up treatment costing thousands of pounds, and sometimes, the damage can be so bad that you’ll need cosmetic dentistry to ‘put it right’. In these instances, dental compensation can help you financially so you can focus on putting your life and your confidence, back together.

OUR EXPERIENCE OF HANDLING CLAIMS FOR DENTAL NEGLIGENCE

Regent Law Solicitors have extensive experience in this area. Our dental claims specialists are able to assess the details of your case and offer you advice on your claim being successful in a matter of minutes. So give us a call – we’re here to help!

If you have been the victim of dental negligence, and you’d like to explore the possibility of claiming for compensation, let us help. We just need a few minutes of your time and, in return, we’ll be able to tell you the likelihood of you being able to bring a successful claim.

BE QUICK……

The law states that any claim for compensation for dental negligence must be brought within three years of the negligence happening or three years from the date that you realised the dental negligence was the cause of your current suffering. This time limit is called a ‘statute of limitations’. If you miss this time limit, there’s nothing anyone can do – there are no exceptions. So, make sure you call us today.

‘NO WIN, NO FEE’

We don’t believe that those who’ve suffered negligence, at the hands of another, should be out-of-pocket whilst their claim progresses, that’s why we use the ‘no win, no fee’ system.

NEXT STEPS

All you need to do is call us and speak to one of our specialist compensation claim solicitors. At this stage, it’s a free, informal chat – you’re not obliged to anything.
